Rupee Book (the "App", "we", "us", or "our") is a personal finance and expense management mobile application developed exclusively for users in India. The App is designed to help individuals track expenses, create budgets, generate financial reports, and gain valuable insights into their spending habits in a simple and secure manner.
We are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the highest standards of confidentiality and security for your financial information. This Privacy Policy has been prepared in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"), the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
Our foundational principle is privacy by design. All transaction processing, categorization, and storage occur entirely on your personal device. We do not operate any servers that collect, store, or process your personal or financial data.
Rupee Book follows a strict data-minimization approach. We collect and maintain no personal or financial data on any external servers. No analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or tracking mechanisms are present in the App.
We request SMS access to automatically detect bank alerts, UPI transactions, NEFT/IMPS transfers & credit card spends, helping generate your expense records.
Important: All processing happens locally on your device. Raw SMS is never uploaded. Only extracted data (amount, date, category) is saved in your local database.
This permission is required solely for the Voice OTP login feature. When you choose to log in via Voice OTP, the app accesses your call log on your device to verify that the incoming call matches the verification number sent by our system.
Important: This check is performed locally in real time to confirm your identity securely and prevent fraud. Your call history is never uploaded to our servers, stored, or used for any other purpose.

You can grant, deny, or revoke any permission at any time through your device settings. The App works fully in manual mode even without these permissions.
All information is processed locally on your device for automatic categorization, generating reports, budgets, charts, and providing financial insights.
Based on your explicit consent via device permissions under the DPDP Act, 2023. You may withdraw consent anytime.
We do not sell, share, or disclose any data to third parties. Zero data leaves your device.
Industry-standard local encryption + secure coding practices. We recommend device-level security (passcode/biometrics).
Your data lives only on your device for as long as you keep it. Delete anytime via app or device settings.
